One Burnaby address is not every Burnaby winter
A quote for SFU or an exposed mountain approach should not automatically use the same workload assumption as a lower Metrotown or South Burnaby property. Historical station records distinguish elevated locations, but they do not predict the exact number of service visits at a particular building. The estimate still needs the property’s clearable surfaces, grades, access and accepted service obligations.
Let the layout determine the equipment
A truck and back-plow arrangement may suit accessible circulation lanes. Tightly parked stalls, restricted turning space or a particular clearing requirement may call for compact equipment or a separate machine. Common pedestrian routes require their own crew or equipment plan. Tell the contractor whether parked stalls must be cleared, when vehicles can move and where snow can be stored. Square footage alone cannot describe that workload.
Keep ramps and treatment visible
A parkade ramp or sloped approach needs explicit scope rather than a hidden assumption in a general site price. Common walkway stairs and landings belong in the agreed pedestrian route; access to individual units is separate unless included. Additional salt-only work should be distinguished from treatment already included in a snow-and-salt visit. Product selection and application depend on the surface, conditions and agreed plan, not a universal concrete-safe label.
Price the season, including readiness
Review the total before GST, the service period, payment schedule and weather provisions. Seasonal crew and equipment availability, backup and material stock affect delivery even in a mild winter. Our working model prices an extra salt-only allowance at half a combined snow-and-salt allowance. That relationship explains the estimate; it is not a published fixed rate for every Burnaby property or a promise of unlimited attendance.
Request a Burnaby scope review
Send the address, route plan, storage areas and any priority requirements. Tell us if the site is on Burnaby Mountain, a hill approach or a lower route so we do not assume a citywide workload. Relocation, loading and off-site hauling need a separate agreement unless included. The calculator being developed for PlowWow’s planned 2026 Snow Intelligence rollout supports a clearer estimate conversation; reviewed quotes remain available now.
