You should be able to look at a starting snow-removal price before deciding whether to request a quote. PlowWow's current public beta separates those steps: find the address, see the standard residential starting estimate, then choose whether to carry it into a request.
For a Langley owner, the useful feature is the handoff. You do not need to retype the address and estimate into a new message. You do need to check that the estimate describes the work you actually want reviewed.
First, check what Google found
Enter the street number, street and city in the address estimator. Read the returned formatted address and look at the map. If it identifies the wrong property, change the address before continuing. A recognisable map image helps locate the site; it is not an automated measurement of the driveway or shared areas.
Langley City and the Township of Langley are different municipalities. If your address could be ambiguous, specify the municipality in the follow-up. This guide concerns the quote workflow, not municipal compliance; the calculator does not resolve every local requirement on your behalf.
Then check the scope beside the figure
The current address-only estimator displays a combined standard residential scope: driveway, adjacent sidewalk, walkway, front steps and entrance. It is a starting estimate for a standard residential property on a seasonal route, before GST. The displayed figure does not confirm a property survey or spare route capacity.
A long access lane, several buildings, a commercial yard or a strata's shared roads cannot be priced simply by accepting that standard example. Tell PlowWow that the property needs a custom review. An address lookup can locate an unusual site while still displaying the standard residential starting scope.
For example, imagine a Langley home behind a long gated access lane. The important question is not whether the address appears on the map. It is whether the written proposal includes the lane, turning area, gate access and snow-storage arrangement. That example is hypothetical, not a published customer job.
Optional follow-up keeps the starting context together
After the estimate, select “Follow up on this estimate.” The quote-request screen shows the starting service, address and estimate, alongside the need for a formal review. Add your contact details only if you choose to request follow-up.
The handoff uses the current browser session. If the next screen has no estimate, return to the estimator and start again; a saved browser step is not a confirmed request. You can also call PlowWow if the online handoff is unavailable.
Before submitting, read the notes and explain the differences between the displayed standard scope and your actual property. Keep the description short and specific: “long gated lane plus front entrance” is more useful than “large property.” Do not include private gate codes in a general request.
Four details that improve a Langley review
- The correct municipality and site: street address, City or Township, and which buildings are included.
- The access route: gates, turning room, ramps or narrow areas that may affect equipment.
- The clearing boundary: driveway, paths and any requested areas outside the standard residential example.
- The arrangement you need: a seasonal proposal or a separately reviewed one-off request, plus the service priorities to discuss.
These details help frame a quote. They do not establish an arrival time or confirm acceptance onto a route. Review the final price, triggers, timing, treatment and extraordinary-weather terms in the written agreement.
Where this fits in Snow Intelligence
The estimator is a public part of PlowWow's first-year beta. Wider client views, visit records and notifications need property-specific confirmation. Advanced mapping, AI photo interpretation and automated billing remain development topics unless an implemented capability is verified.
For this Langley use case, the immediate benefit is modest and practical: keep the address, provisional figure and scope notes together while moving from browsing to a review request. The reviewed proposal remains the place to confirm your service arrangement.
