Get a starting price for the work you actually need
Enter your Richmond address and postal code in the free online beta estimator. Choose the standard service that resembles your property, then review its stated scope. The instant result is a starting estimate. It does not measure the lot, confirm the correct frontage or reserve a crew. A larger or unusual property moves to a reviewed custom proposal.
Current beta starting examples: CAD before GST
| Standard service | Starting estimate per visit | Stated scope |
|---|---|---|
| Sidewalks and steps | $75 | Walkway, front steps and entrance |
| House and driveway | $125 | Single driveway and walkway |
| Storefront or business | $150 | Entrance and frontage; lots and delivery lanes separate |
| Strata or larger property | Custom | Common routes, ramps and larger areas require scope review |
These are PlowWow’s provisional examples checked October 21, 2026, not citywide average prices. They assume normal snowfall conditions and the stated standard scope. The final property price, included materials and extraordinary-weather terms are confirmed in the reviewed proposal.
Storefront frontage is not a whole shopping centre
The storefront example covers an entrance and frontage. It does not price a shared retail lot, loading lane or every neighbouring shop. If several businesses share the same access, agree who is requesting the work and which areas are included. A marked plan avoids paying for one frontage while expecting a whole centre to be cleared.
Include every side of a corner property
A driveway may look like the main job, but a corner lot can have a much longer public sidewalk route. Measure or describe the frontage on both streets and the connection to the entrance. Richmond states that owners or occupiers must remove snow and ice from adjacent sidewalks by 10 am daily, including Sundays. Put that frontage into the scope discussion rather than assuming it is covered by a small entrance price.
Budget for ice-control decisions as well as snow depth
A clear-looking lot does not settle every winter-service question. Ask how inspection, treatment and follow-up are authorised, which material is proposed, and how treatment is recorded. Salt-only visits and combined clearing visits should be distinguishable on the proposal. This is a service-planning point, not a prediction of the number of icy days Richmond will experience.
Decide where the cleared snow will stay
Identify an on-site storage area without blocking access, sightlines or drains. If storage space is limited, discuss relocation and off-site hauling separately. A photograph of the entrance and the proposed storage area can explain more than the street address alone. Equipment, trucking and extra handling can change the final price.
What “instant” means in this beta
The calculation appears online, but entering an address does not run a satellite takeoff or confirm route capacity. The system checks municipality text and postal-code format. Larger custom calculations use the approximate measurements and visit allowances you supply. Results can change after review; each completed property quote helps refine the system.
The 2026/27 season means winter 2026 into 2027. It does not mean a second 2027/28 season is included. Seasonal, five-visit and custom arrangements must have their own dates, scope and terms. Heavy or prolonged snowfall, additional re-clearing and snow hauling must be addressed explicitly in the written agreement.
