Visual: original PlowWow editorial diagram explaining quote preparation. Illustrative planning information, not a photograph of a completed job or a site-specific instruction.
Give each photo a question to answer
A useful quote photo helps explain the property: where the crew enters, which route connects an entrance to parking, or what restricts access. A large folder of unlabeled images can leave those questions unanswered.
Start with a short brief stating the property type, city, intended service areas and the person coordinating the request. Photographs support that information; they do not replace a site review or establish a confirmed service agreement.
Show the route, then the detail
Provide an overview that lets someone understand how the areas connect. Follow it with labelled views of relevant entrances, stairs, ramps and access constraints. If a picture cannot communicate scale, add a factual note rather than relying on perspective.
Take photographs only from places you can access appropriately. Avoid creating a safety concern or entering a restricted area to get a better angle. Tell the provider when an image is old or no longer represents the current layout.
Protect private information
Check for residents, vehicle plates, door-entry codes and other identifying details before sharing a quote package. Use the provider’s agreed private intake route and limit the package to information relevant to the enquiry.
A quote photo is not permission to publish the property or occupants in marketing. If a public service story is considered later, handle permission, attribution and privacy as a separate decision.
Explain the work you are comparing
List the areas you want included and ask how the provider proposes to address them. Keep snow clearing, ice-control discussions, stored-snow relocation and any additional work distinct. Confirm which items are included in the written scope.
Ask who approves changes and how access or operating hours affect the plan. A cheaper-looking estimate is not a like-for-like comparison if it covers different routes, documentation or follow-up arrangements.
Send a brief that can start a conversation
A practical package contains a short site description, labelled current images, known restrictions, your priority routes and a contact who can answer questions. Flag anything that requires an on-site assessment rather than guessing.
Start with the PlowWow quote request. For properties used overnight, pair your photos with an access plan. A submitted enquiry is a request for discussion, not a confirmed booking or a guaranteed response time.
